Ministry for the Environment

1256-01-ROI Freshwater Farm Plans Learning Solutions

Freshwater farm plans are a new legal instrument under Part 9A of the Resource Management Act 1991. Freshwater farm plans are a practical way for farmers and growers to identify, manage and reduce the impact of farming on the freshwater environment. They are now required in parts of the Waikato and Southland regions from 1 August 2023. They will be rolled out to all regions by the end of 2025.

The Ministry wishes to fund a programme of initiatives to build the capability of farm operators and growers (including those who use and own whenua Māori) to develop freshwater farm plans, by providing a range of learning solutions that empower farm operators to make a difference in improving environmental impacts.
The Ministry is seeking to fund the design and delivery of a portfolio of learning solutions and resources to help farm operators develop their own freshwater farm plans.

An online briefing for interested suppliers will be held at 2pm on 27 September 2023. See Section 1 of the RFP for details.
