2024-08 ROI Replacement of Video Conference Hardware

Scion is a Crown Research Institute (CRI), which is a government-owned company that carries out scientific research for the benefit of New Zealand. We specialise in research, science and technology development for the forestry, wood and wood-derived materials and other biomaterial sectors.

What we need
We are purchasing replacement Video Conferencing gear to replace the existing Polycom gear which will no longer be supported next year as the software that interprets the traffic for teams will no longer be available.
• Replacement Video conference gear that is robust of industry standard
• Standardise room configurations based on size, form and function
• Simple to operate – connect, communicate and collaborate
• Sound (broadcast and pick up) and video (capture and display) fit for a modern knowledge worker environment

What we don’t want
• Bespoke or complex builds.
• Complex operational requirements for the end user.

What’s important to us? (Services Required)
• Full support agreement/warranty required to cover Rotorua and Christchurch
• Vendor is do full installation of equipment, if any additional structural work is to be undertaken this must be agree upon prior to contract being signed.
• Work with Scion IT staff to fully test and connect equipment to the Scion Office 365 environment
• Documentation for installation/ trouble shooting and managing the equipment.
• Full hand over process with Scion IT staff
• Documentation on the use of the equipment.
• Full testing for quality of Video conferencing between Scion Offices and Christchurch and with remote endpoints.
