New Zealand Institute of Bioeconomy Science Limited

2025-15 Scion Steam Boiler Replacement Project

The Bioeconomy Science Institute brings together AgResearch, Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research, Plant & Food Research and Scion into a single organisation. The Bioeconomy Science Institute is a Crown Research Institute, owned by the New Zealand Government and governed by an independent Board of Directors.

The Entire Project Scope Includes:
- Stainless steel, electrically staged steam generation capability (200kW total)
- Decommissioning of existing boiler and pipework after installation of the new boilers, to minimise science work disruption
- Integration-ready control interface (BACNet/Modbus preferred)
- Installation of the new boiler and connections
- Regulatory compliance with PECPR, ACOP, and H&S, and certification of all joins and pressure vessels.
- Removal and if possible, recycling, of the old boiler and piping.

Our ideal solution is to secure a supplier who can take responsibility for the entire project, however submissions for individual parts of the project will be considered.
