CONTRACT CON 24/48 Septic Tank Maintenance Contract 2024-2027

Tenders are invited from suitably qualified contractors for the above contract.
This Contract is for the cleaning, servicing and disposal of effluent/ sludge from approximately 606 septic tanks that discharge to the Council reticulation in the Waimakariri District. The Contract is split over two years with 285 septic tanks in Separable Portion A (2024/2025 year), 124 in Separable Portion B (2025/2026 year), and 197 in Separable Portion C (2026/2027 year).
Note: the numbers are provisional and may increase/ decrease in some areas
The main tasks involved in this Contract are:
• Location, access, de-sludge, flush and clean septic tanks and pump chambers, clean any bio filters, flush any stone filtration systems, measure the level of scum, supernatant and scum layers
• Provide septic tank report for each property as part of the septic tank maintenance service, collect information on Tank type/ Manufacturer, capacity, depth of sludge, scum layer, pump type, make, model, any signs of storm water ingress or any damage to the tank or obvious faults. Report involves both a sheet to be filled in either Microsoft word or adobe PDF and a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet showing information on all tanks cleaned
• Provide the location of the Septic Tank by GPS co-ordinates, which shall be record on the property report sheets. The make and model of the GPS unit is to be provided to verify the co-ordinates system utilised for updating Councils GIS/Mapping system. The GPS Unit used will be in the "NZTM (New Zealand Transverse Mercator) coordinate system.
