3112-22/23 Rakaia Gorge Biodiversity Protection and Weed Control

The Canterbury Regional Council and Selwyn District Council are seeking a specialist ecological restoration contractor to undertake weed control works associated with the ecological restoration and protection of biodiversity values in the Rakaia Gorge catchment. The catchment is in the mid-section of the Rakaia River catchment encompassing both sides of the Rakaia river from the SH77 bridge to Cleardale Station on the true right and Terrace downs on the True left (see the Rakaia Gorge Weed Strategy for maps detailing the operational area).
The nature of the restoration work includes the following (as also outlined in this RFT, specifications and pricing schedule, and supplementary information):
• Control of weeds specified in the Rakaia Gorge Weed Strategy and the Rakaia Gorge Operational Plan.
• Regular project reporting, site surveillance and monitoring to enable project delivery to be monitored by the Councils.
