ADVANCED NOTICE Validation of Remote Sensing with Biomass Carbon Modelling

Te Uru Rākau – New Zealand Forest Service (TUR – NZFS) will soon be going to market seeking a supplier or suppliers to design and execute a Field Trial across multiple Pinus radiata plantations, covering varied forest conditions and management regimes, in order to compare traditional field survey methods (e.g., PSP, LUCAS) with remote sensing technologies. The Field Trial will test the feasibility of a “whole of forest” biomass modelling approach and compare its outputs with traditional methods of forest carbon estimation.
