Advanced Notice Forestry Silviculture Contract

Environment Canterbury is the Canterbury Regional Council who own and manage forestry blocks alongside various rivers in Canterbury. These blocks are partially managed for flood protection, soil conservation, recreation, biodiversity, and timber production.
We are seeking contractors who can carry out our silviculture programme. The initial 18-month duration has at least 85 hectares of cutover replanting, 110 hectares of thinning and 85 hectares of release spraying.
Price weighing is the most important aspect to us with additional weightings on capability/skills/experience, health & safety and capacity/availability.
What we need
We require a suitably experienced and qualified contractor who can carry out our silviculture programme throughout the Canterbury region with the majority of the work being focused around the Waimakariri and Ashley rivers. We require the successful applicant to manage the worksites and complete the work safely, to specifications and on time. The initial contract is from 1st July 2025 to 31st December 2026. Suppliers must have a proven track record and background in this type of work. The pricing requirements for this contract will be on a fixed per tree and hectare rate.
