After-hours and Urgent Care Services for Ashburton

This Request for Proposal (RFP) relates to after-hours and urgent care services with a specific focus on Health NZ’s After-hours and Urgent Care Framework (the Framework). The goal is to ensure that 98% of New Zealanders can access urgent care within one hour’s drive of their home. The following are the

key objectives of the outcomes of this process:
• Provide consistent urgent care access: a standardised framework for more consistent urgent care availability, funding, data, quality standards, and cost to the consumer across the country.
• Ensure easy navigation: a clear and user-friendly system for patients to navigate.
• Integrate with broader healthcare services: strong collaboration between urgent care, primary care (including after-hours care), ambulance, ED, and telehealth services for improved patient outcomes.

Additionally, the requirement has the additional objectives of:
• Meeting ACC’s integrated investment objectives around timely care and recovery for injuries as reflected in improved rehabilitation outcomes.
• Health Target Performance is optimally supported: in particular, Shorter Stays in Emergency Departments (SSED).
