Kia ora koutou,
The External Legal Services contract is being extended for an additional nine months, until 22 June 2024.
The reason for this extension is to ensure the current contractual framework is available while we explore options around how legal services are delivered to Government. For example, introducing more flexibility and lowering the administrative burden of procurement opportunities that delivers greater public value.
We will now be engaging with the market on some elements of the new solution during this extension period. Engagement may include one-to-one discussions and collaborative workshops that include a variety of market perspectives.
An open procurement process will follow this engagement period.
Further detail regarding the timing and nature of this procurement will be provided in an Advance Notice posted to GETS. The new legal services framework is expected to be available for use before 22 June 2024 to allow for enough transition time from the current ELS framework.
