Auckland Aerial Imagery & LIDAR capture 2026-2028

Auckland Council is looking to purchase two sets of data products:

Aerial photography at 7.5 cm OR 15cm GSD, RGB, captured from aircraft between November 2026 – May 2028. The imagery product will cover the entire Auckland region (AOI attached) and will be captured by the supplier within the specified 18 months period.

LIDAR data (classified point cloud at a minimum of 16 ppsm below canopy, DEM 0.5m, DEM 1m, DSM 1m, Contours) captured from aircraft between November 2026 and May 2027. The LiDAR products will cover the entire Auckland region (AOI attached) and will be captured by the supplier within the specified 6-month period.

Through this Request-for-Information, we are looking to understand what technologies are available to best deliver the products requested and if they can be done simultaneously using the same aircraft.

The timeline of delivery while meeting the specs is very important. We request vendors to provide the options to capture the above in the timeliest manner possible.

The final products (imagery and LiDAR) must cover the entire Auckland region seamlessly.
