Biogas research to assist industry and policy decision-makers

We require the development of technical, commercial and environmental resources that address key information gaps currently limiting investment in organic waste-to-energy projects. The research outputs will provide practical, evidence-based guidance for project developers, councils, investors and other stakeholders considering AD facilities in New Zealand, while also drawing on relevant international best practice.

By addressing key information gaps and market uncertainties, this initiative will support project developers, waste operators, councils and investors to better assess the feasibility of AD projects in New Zealand. This will reduce early-stage project risk and enable more informed investment decisions in renewable energy infrastructure.
