Upgrades are required with respect of a number of Heat pumps requiring replacement in various areas around the school.
The outcomes of undertaking the Heating to Classrooms and Administration Block project is primarily driven by replacement of assets at the end of life and will provide ongoing confidence to teaching and administrative buildings by maintaining environments with reduced maintenance outgoings, and
equipment failures over the coming years. As works will affect ability for environmental control within both education and administrative spaces, it is proposed to undertake works during the summer holidays where minimal disturbance to students and staff can be expected. There are also some units to be relocated associated with the roofing project, so undertaking these at the same time will offer efficiencies. As there is some overlap between the Roof Remedial and Replacement Project and the Heating to Classrooms and Admin Project, priority of weathertightness being a key driver will necessitate the successful mechanical contractor to coordinate with the successful roofing contractor to deliver positive outcomes for the school, and to preserve warranties associated with the roof work project.
