C10090 Jones/Wards/TwoChain Rd Realignment

Selwyn District Council (SDC) is seeking submission from contractors to provide construction services for the Two Chain/Wards/Jones Road intersection realignment and KiwiRail Level Crossing upgrade project, located to the north of Rolleston town centre.
This project forms part of the broader Rolleston Access Improvements (RAI) initiative and coincides with construction of the SH1/Rolleston Drive new Overpass to the east of this intersection. Our goal is to make the intersection and Level Rail Crossing safer, aligned with the projected traffic usage and to better cater for future growth in the area. The objective is to carryout construction within the timeframe highlighted in this tender document, minimise impact on Rolleston residents, and coordinate with the nearby construction of the new SH1 /Rolleston Drive Overpass to the east. The existing intersection has a significant number of services located under the carriageway, grass verges and rail crossing as well as overhead power services. The proposed works include the construction of an upgraded Rail Crossing, road pavement, footpath, drainage, streetlights, service and water race relocations, landscaping, signs and line marking, and streetlights to accommodate the work.

Scope of Works
This project consists of upgrades to Two Chain/Wards/Jones Road intersection realignment and KiwiRail Level Crossing. The contract works will consist of:
• Site Clearance
• Temporary Traffic Management
• Earthworks
• Stormwater Drainage
• Water Race replacement
• Pavements and Surfacing
• Utility Service relocation including undergrounding of overhead power
• Traffic Services
• KiwiRail corridor construction including rail crossing upgrade
• Landscaping
