C1020 Coastal Resilience Project (Beach Road & Waianakarua Road)

Waitaki District Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to design, supply and install coastal protection works along vulnerable sections of Beach Road and Waianakarua Road. The works will involve engineered rock bags, rock armouring (or suitable equivalent alternatives based on whole-of-life cost cycle) to mitigate erosion and secure critical transport routes for residents, visitors and emergency services.

This procurement is part of a strategic infrastructure initiative aligned with NZTA’s 2024–27 National Land Transport Programme. The successful Respondent will deliver a solution that meets environmental consent conditions (the existing application which you will support), supports long-term planning and improves resilience – reducing the chance of closures.
