The concrete flow measurement flume adjacent to the Latham Street wastewater pump station has corroded due to hydrogen sulphide (H2S) attack, resulting in the structure collapsing and a sink hole forming in the grassed public space in front of the pump station. The flume is now redundant and can be replaced by a straight section of PE pipe, new manholes and a valve chamber. A new isolation valve upstream of the pump station is also proposed.
