Due to the demolition of the Bluff Hotel the west wall of the Bluff Service Centre is now exposed to the environment and affecting the structural integrity of the existing building.
This wall needs to be repaired and protected by sealing or cladding to ensure the building’s weathertightness. The scope of works includes the structural strengthening of the west wall of the Bluff Service Centre. This involves demolition of redundant elements, construction of new foundations, installation of wall bracing, and recladding. Additionally, the works include strengthening the gable roof-to-façade connections and re-nailing the floor diaphragm to enhance seismic performance, targeting a minimum of 67% New Building Standard (NBS).
This works will be undertaken in live operational environment and the works will need to be planned and staged to mitigate disruptions to services.
