Gisborne District Council

City Centre Watermain Renewals Engineering Design Services

The Gisborne District Council (GDC) is seeking engineering design and planning services for the renewal of approximately 3.6km of watermains predominantly focused on the city centre. Pipe sizes range from 100mm to 300mm in diameter.

A revitalisation project for the Gisborne City Centre is in the early design stages. Underground services renewals are required ahead of any surface improvements. GDC wishes to appoint a designer for the first stage of watermain renewals (both reticulation and trunk mains). Expertise is sought in the planning, staging and management of underground services construction in commercial areas, and coordination with other design teams. These services exclude hydraulic modelling, topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, or construction management services.

The scope also includes the renewal at some suburban locations with a record of frequent pipebursts.
