Queenstown-Lakes District Council

Coronet Forest Revegetation

Queenstown Lakes District Council has undertaken to remove a 172Ha Douglas Fir forest, at the foot of Coronet Peak. Deforestation is progressing well, and QLDC are now looking to engage with a suitable contractor to undertake the revegetation project of 145Ha of native forest species. The proposed revegetation project is a unique opportunity to restore biodiversity values to this area, and is an opportunity to deliver an industry leading example of how landscape ecological restoration can be achieved. This is a significant project, which is highly visible and is one of the largest native revegetation project in the South Island.

The purpose of this Notice is to provide advance notification to the market of QLDC’s intention to release a Registration of Interest (ROI) document, so that interested and capable suppliers are prepared and ready to respond to this ROI. Following the review of supplier responses to this ROI document, QLDC will then provide a full Request for Proposal (RFP) to shortlisted suppliers.

**Further to our previous advance notice issued on the 21st December 2021, we would like to provide suppliers with an update of our progress and timeline to engage with the market for a Main Contractor for this revegetation project.

QLDC is currently finalising specific revegetation plans and associated procurement documentation for release to market. We are targeting the issue a Registration of Interest (ROI) document to the market in June 2022.

Note: No information from potential respondents is requested nor required from this advance notice.

Suppliers who are interested in being part of the proposed ROI process should ensure that they are registered to receive GETS notifications for the applicable RFx Categories.
