Auckland Council is seeking information from the market on options to provide reliable, fit-for-purpose courier services that support our day-to-day operational needs across the Auckland region. We are interested in understanding how suppliers can deliver a mix of on-demand collections, scheduled runs and time-critical deliveries for documents and parcels between council offices, service centres, work sites and other nominated locations.
Through this RFI, we want to better understand available service models and how they are delivered in practice, including: collection and delivery timeframes and service standards; geographic coverage and operating hours; booking channels and dispatch processes; tracking, proof of delivery and visibility; exception management and responsive customer support; handling of sensitive/confidential items; health and safety practices; and sustainability options (e.g., low-emissions vehicles and emissions reporting). We are also seeking indicative commercial approaches (e.g., on-demand rates, scheduled-run pricing, surcharges and assumptions) to help inform our next steps, which may include a future competitive procurement.
