EOI 25-051 Management of the Rotorua Night Market

Councillors have directed Council to investigate options for the Rotorua Night Market to be run by another operator at alternative locations close to/within the Rotorua CBD. The below ten sites have been identified as being suitable for hosting a Night Market:
1. Haupapa Street carpark
2. Memorial Plaza
3. Lake Road carpark at the Lakefront
4. Tutanekai Street (Historical location of the Night Market)
5. Government Gardens at the Arches
6. Government Gardens – Joseph Ward Road
7. Village Green/Memorial Park
8. Energy Events Centre carpark
9. Kuirau Park, at the Footbaths
10. Kuirau Park, Corner of Pukuatua Street and Kuirau Street


Rotorua Lakes Council (RLC) is open to Proposals for the Management of the Rotorua Night Market, which currently takes place on Thursdays evenings between 4.00-5.00pm to 8.00-9.00pm, weather dependant, all year round. You may submit up to 3 proposals covering off the exclusive Management of the Rotorua Night Market, which includes:
• The Proposed Market Site, set ups and breakdowns
• Managing all the H&S of the Night Market
• Selection of vendors/cuisine for the Rotorua Night Market
• Collection of all stall-costs/revenue from the vendors
• Promoting the Night Market
• Growing the Night Market
• Administration of the Night Market
