EPUKAPUKA: EBOOK CONSORTIA

Epukapuka is a consortium of public libraries for the supply of digital material. Epukapuka operates in the lower half of the North Island. It currently services a population of approximately 650,000 people with the potential, if all libraries in the lower North Island joined, to increase to approximately 950,000.
Currently we have a contract with OverDrive for the provision of eBooks and eAudio to our libraries. As our contract with OverDrive is due for renewal in 2021 we are taking the opportunity this provides to review our choice of vendor.
We are looking for credible suppliers who have the capability, experience and infrastructure to support the consortium to achieve the following:
- The provision of eBook and eAudio content to the consortia.
- A pricing model that enables members to license the content at a better rate than if they were purchasing content individually.
- The ability to add members to the consortium at no additional cost to existing members.
Epukapuka is a large grouping of libraries with an extensive customer reach. Association with the provision of collection materials provides a strong brand awareness opportunity for vendors. Epukapuka values long-term relationships and contracts.
