Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder: Non-Clinical Workforce Training

We are requesting proposals from organisations that have the capability and experience to develop and deliver a programme to extend the breadth and reach of training for the non-clinical and community FASD workforce.

The non-clinical workforce includes people in government agencies such as Justice, Education, Tamariki Ora, and Police who regularly interact with people with FASD and their whānau and caregivers.

The workforce also includes people working in community settings such as marae and hāpori groups that support people with FASD and their whānau and caregivers.

The training delivered through this programme should assist learners to identify people with FASD, refer people with FASD to specialised diagnostic services and support those living with FASD (including people with FASD, their caregivers and whānau) to access the support they need.

The training programme should incorporate information in clinical FASD diagnostic guidelines to ensure the programme is consistent with good FASD practice across Aotearoa.
