Harrisville Bridge Design and Build

The existing Harrisville bridge has reached the end of its economic life and now requires replacement. The Waikato District Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced organisations able to offer a turnkey design and build service.
The existing bridge is to be replaced with a new two-lane bridge design and constructed to HN-HO-72 design loading capacity.
Provision for pedestrians and cyclists may be either via a shared path along both sides of the vehicular bridge or via a separate adjacent footbridge (community board to be consulted if they want footpaths on both sides).

The works will also include identifying and protecting/relocating existing services including the water main, sewerage and power/comms.
During construction works, the contractor shall develop a traffic management plan which includes route diversion to minimise the disruption to local residents and businesses which may include the provision of a temporary crossing/bailey bridge.
The contract shall also include the safe removal and disposal of both the existing footbridge and the main bridge.
