IAF Ocean Ridge Bulk Earthworks and Roading Projects Registration Of Interest

The purpose of this Registration of Interest (ROI) is to notify suppliers of an upcoming Request for Tender (RFT) for a Measure and Value Contract under NZS 3910:2013, relating to the construction of bulk earthworks, roading and stormwater works.
This ROI is also intended to:
• Allow sufficient time for prospective tenderers to engage with local subcontractors and supply partners; and
• Gauge market interest and capability in delivering the project.
• Allow KDC to short list preferred contractors for the tender phase

What we need
The Buyer seeks to procure the services of a suitably capable and experienced Contractor to deliver relatively large bulk earthworks, roading and stormwater works in the Kaikōura District in a mix of self-delivering and using local contractors where appropriate. Contractors will be shortlisted based on track record and experience in the construction of projects of the same nature and scale. They must also have the proven ability to manage programme, risk and deliver projects to a high standard within the required timeframes.

What we don’t want
The Buyer does not want to engage a general contractor who will attempt to subcontract all the construction work. The Buyer does not want to engage a contractor who does not have proven ability to manage projects, risk and deliver projects to an agreed programme and cost. The Buyer does not want to engage a contractor with any sort of questioned ethics track record. Please do not respond to this ROI if you do not have the capacity to construct this project within our required timeframes.

What’s important to us.
This will be a challenging project in terms of sequencing of the works, flexibility in testing and ground engineering to qualify material suitability, achieve specifications and methodology to dispose of any unsuitable material off-site, coordination with established contractors for the adjacent bridge construction project needing access through site, traffic and construction effects management in and through an existing quiet and high standing subdivision in minimizing construction and traffic related disruption to the residents in the areas as well as existing sealed haul road remediation.
