Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) is looking to purchase community based perinatal maternal mental health services to improve access to timely and culturally responsive support for mothers and their family/whānau living in rural areas within the Waikato District.
The aim is to build upon an existing community based mental health service(s) that has the capability to provide specialist maternal mental health support services closer to home for those living in rural areas. The service will comprise of 0.5 Clinical FTE, 5 x Non-Clinical FTE and funding for customised packages of care to support mothers, infants and whānau alongside the current service in place.
A key priority of the service will be to work collaboratively with other primary, and community based maternal health services across Waikato to ensure a collaborative and consistent approach to service delivery as part of the development of a peri-natal maternal mental health and wellbeing pathway.
The benefits we seek are to improve, promote and support maternal mental health and wellbeing rates for mothers and their whānau in a way that is responsive to them, while building the capacity and capability of the mental health workforce within rural areas.
This is an exciting opportunity if your service is innovative, creative, strength based and responsive and wants to make a real difference in the lives of mothers, infants and whānau in the (rural) Waikato district. Your service will focus on supporting mothers to achieve their mental health and wellbeing goals and provide an innovative, integrated and compassionate service.
