Land Drainage, Rivers & Coastal Maintenance Contract

Gisborne District Council owns and maintains land drainage, rivers and coastal assets in the district that contribute to the protection of land, buildings, people and infrastructure from flooding and erosion.

The scope of work for this contract is outlined in the Specifications and broadly includes key maintenance tasks such as spraying, mowing, excavation, vegetation removal, willow planting and management, culvert jetting, inspection and maintenance of dam, stopbank and pump station assets, and pre and post flood inspections of infrastructure.

The estimated value of the Contract is approximately $1.5 million per annum.

An initial contract term of seven years with a right of renewal, subject to performance, of a further three years (maximum contract term ten years) is proposed.

The Contract commences on the 1 July 2027. A generous mobilisation period has been allowed for in the tender programme.
