Lincoln Town Centre Stage 1

Lincoln township is the second largest urban area in Selwyn District and includes the University, Crown Research Institutes and commercial and residential activity. Lincoln is part of the high growth area of ‘Greater Christchurch’. Located near the District boundary it is highly accessible by cycle and public transport to and from Christchurch City itself.
The project includes the installation of Gerald/West Belt traffic signals, cycle lanes, improved footpaths, and shared paths, placemaking (co-design with rūnanga), streetscape upgrade, intersection improvement, and drainage improvements.
This Contract Works Stage 1 is part of the staged work to deliver improvements to the Lincoln Town Centre. Stage 1 being the Gerald Street Eastern End; West Belt to Kildare Terrace, including Gerald/West Belt traffic signals and a new town plaza at Gerald Street.
Selwyn District Council wishes to continue to construction of stages 2, 3 and 4 of this project, subject to funding, consents and approvals. Subject to performance on stage 1, SDC reserves the right to engage the stage 1 contractor for ECI and or construction of some or all of the subsequent stages, subject to negotiation and mutual agreement.
The tender shall be evaluated using a two-part Prequalification, Price Quality Method, as per NZ Transport Agency’s Procurement Manual. Tenderers must be NZ Transport Agency Prequalified Contractors to Prequalification Work Category and Classification Levels 2C Surfacing and 4B Construction.
