• On 21 February 2022, the school became aware of a mould issue in Block ER and requested a copy of the mould reports and asked their project manager (Architects44) to investigate. On 22 February 2022, an Architects44 report advised that the affected roof area and framing over one space should be removed along with the adjacent asbestos cladding. The roof needs to be reformed over the at-risk area to meet weather tightness requirements. Note Tolaga Bay Area School is in a high exposure coastal location, immediately adjacent to the beach and the ocean. The removal of mould in the ceiling and wall cavities, including the removal of all contaminated linings / framing will occur as part of this project.
