Invercargill City Council

Mersey Street Foul Sewer Rising Main

The Invercargill City Council (ICC) would like to invite suitably experienced and qualified contractors to register their interest for the Mersey Street Foul Sewer Rising Main Project.

The Mersey Street Foul Sewer Rising Main, installed in 1965, is a vital part of Invercargill’s wastewater network, extending 2,580 meters through Mersey Street, Ettrick Street, Liddel Street, and the ICC’s reserve between the railway track and Bluff Road. It handles 28% of the city’s wastewater load.

To address aging infrastructure and future capacity needs, ICC plans to replace the existing DN825 RCRRJ rising main with a DN1000 PE100 PN10 pipe along a new alignment.
