Mobile Safety Cameras are critical to the success of the Safety Camera Programme, as they are a key part of the overall Safety Camera System. NZTA has identified the need to engage the market to find a suitable long-term Mobile Safety Camera Operations provider. It has been agreed that the accountability of Mobile safety camera operation will be transferred from NZ Police to NZTA by 30 June 2025.
Currently, Police operates 45 mobile speed cameras. Mobile safety cameras are currently deployed in the back of vans across New Zealand by Police and operated by Police employees. Mobile safety cameras are currently deployed across New Zealand operating under an “anytime” and “anywhere” approach.
We want to hear from suitably qualified suppliers (including joint or consortia responses) that have experience providing Mobile Safety Camera Operation services in similar markets. This includes:
• Safety camera hardware and systems used for mobile speed enforcement
• Mobile Safety camera vehicles, including trailers
• Mobile Safety camera operators and management
• Mobile Safety camera support infrastructure and systems
