Fire and Emergency New Zealand is seeking an experienced National Medical Officer (NMO) who is a qualified Occupational Physician with a minimum of seven years’ experience working in emergency services or similar high-risk environments. The contract is for a core 6 hours per week.
The NMO will work with the Injury Management Unit to provide expertise and advice on work injuries in line with the Accident Compensation Act 2001 and the provisions for work injury cover and entitlements within it. The NMO will also work with the recruitment team on assessing medical information for new recruits and providing expert advice on any changes that might impact on the safety, health and wellbeing of Fire and Emergency personnel.
The work can be done remotely so providers from all locations within New Zealand are welcome to respond.
