Weed control is essential for safeguarding indigenous biodiversity and ecosystems by limiting or reducing areas infested with invasive weed species, thereby minimizing their impact. Weed control is a key function of the Department of Conservation (DOC). The Department is looking for all capable contractors irrespective of size, nature or region to be able to work for DOC, while having all necessary certifications and insurances in place.

The type of work that this panel will cover focuses on two main methods for weed control and eradication operations:
Type 1 – Knapsack / Chainsaw / Hand tool services including abseiling if required, ground spraying, and other weed control services (e.g. wands, specialised tools).
Type 2 – Truck / Tractor mounted spray work.
