Nawton School - Canopy Replacement and Stormwater Upgrades

The project includes two components: Canopy and Stormwater

Canopy: The existing canopy structures across multiple blocks have been identified as non-compliant with the Ministry of Education (MoE) standards. The current clearlite sheeting is trafficable but requires mesh installed to the underside to achieve compliance. Due to the challenges with the mesh install method to these areas, it is decided to carry out a full replacement to all clearlite areas with specified roofing iron achieving a cost and time effective solution.

Stormwater: The school is experiencing significant water run off from Livingstone Ave, which has led to erosion along the footpath and adjacent bank. This has compromised the integrity of the area and poses ongoing safety and maintenance concerns. A licensed plumber has scoped a solution involving constructing a retaining wall along the affected elevation with additional upgrades to the Stormwater system including a two-layer drainage solution, new concrete swale drains and catchpits at both ends.
