Department of Corrections

Notice of Intent - Custodial Furniture

This Notice provides advance notification to the market of the Department of Corrections’ (the ‘Department’) intention to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the supply of custodial furniture.

This procurement will result in the selection of a preferred supplier(s) who will be responsible for delivering a range of specialist furniture suitable for use in custodial settings.

Types of furniture include cell furniture (hard), dayroom furniture for high and low security levels, visits space furniture, mental health rehabilitation spaces and programmes/learning spaces.

This supply opportunity is for a long-term pipeline of intermittent supply of furniture for existing sites and capital projects. We are looking for a long-term contract for at least 10 years.

The RFP will be released via the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS). It is intended that this will be released in April 2025. Shortlisted Respondents will be required to provide samples of selected product types for destructive testing as part of the evaluation process. Destructive testing will only be required for product that has not previously been tested by the Department for the same intended purpose.

Please subscribe to this Notice to receive updates when the RFP is released.

NOTE: Any responses or information provided to the department at this stage will not be considered. The department will not, in general, enter into any communications regarding the nature of this opportunity before the publication of the RFP.
