The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is looking for a research provider to develop a risk-assessment framework that incorporates biological, social, and ecological factors to assess the vulnerability of fish stocks to the impacts of climate change and guide management advice.
The key outcomes of the project are:
• To review available international approaches to climate change risk assessments for fisheries and identify existing frameworks that could be adapted for use in New Zealand.
• To develop a climate vulnerability assessment for New Zealand’s fisheries that can be applied to any fishery or region.
• To apply the vulnerability assessment to a priority fishery or region.
