Okaihau Primary School – Block 1: Flooring, Staff Toilets, Accessible Toilet and Sickbay

The contract works required are:

- strip-out and removal of asbestos-contaminated material
- substructure works, including new concrete slab sections
- new internal and exterior wall framing, with cladding repairs
- replacement interior doors, new floor coverings, wall and ceiling linings, and repainting
- new vanity units, cubicle partitions and sanitaryware
- new sanitary plumbing and drainage works
- heating, ventilation, electrical and lighting upgrades
- disconnection and reinstatement of the fire system

Asbestos removal, demolition and disruptive works should preferably be done over the Christmas holidays. Works are expected to start on 1 December 2026, with completion preferred by 28 February 2027.
