P26-0398 Panel Opportunity for the Appointment of Service Providers to the Panel of Outsourced Clinical Services – Ophthalmology

The Health NZ Regions of Northern, Te Manawa Taki, Central and Te Waipounamu and their Districts do not have the capacity to provide all the Ophthalmology services needed to meet the current demand for their population. The Health NZ Districts have, therefore, identified a need to outsource Ophthalmology services for an initial period of five (5) years, with one (1) right of renewal of five (5) years.
The objective of this Request for Proposal Response Process is to facilitate the establishment of a Panel to deliver options for best public value for the Health NZ Districts, which is consistent with the expectations of both the Office of the Auditor-General and District obligations to balance ethical and sound commercial practices, within a robust, transparent and fair process.
Health NZ is also seeking feedback on the delivery of additional Commitment Contracts for Ophthalmology services that would operate as a variation to the Panel Agreement. The Commitment Contracts will have an initial term of three (3) years, with one (1) right of renewal of three (3) years.

We invite Proposals from Service Providers who meet the clinical, commercial, and other requirements set out in the RFP and who wish to be appointed to the Panel.

The Regions and Health NZ Districts included in this RFP are:
Health NZ Northern Region comprising Te Tai Tokerau, Waitematā, Te Toka Tumai Auckland and Counties Manukau Districts.
Health NZ Te Manawa Taki Region comprising Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairāwhiti, Taranaki and Waikato Districts
Health NZ Central Region comprising Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Taraua MidCentral, Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay, Capital Coast & Hutt Valley, Wairarapa and Whanganui Districts
Health NZ Te Waipounamu Region comprising Nelson Marlborough, Waitaha Canterbury, Te Tai o Poutini West Coast, South Canterbury, and Southern Districts
