Health New Zealand is looking to establish a national Surgical Navigation System capability panel.
Below is the definition of the Surgical Navigation System for this process:
Surgical Navigation Systems provide preoperative and intraoperative information to surgeons by displaying the position of surgical instruments in relation to the patient anatomy in real-time. Prior to surgery and during surgery, diagnostic imaging modalities such as fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are integrated to develop three-dimensional renderings of patient anatomy. The navigation system creates a surgical plan and provides interactive guidance using localisation/digitisation techniques.
This panel does not include robotic-assisted surgery systems. Solutions that incorporate robotic components, enable robotic instrument control, or require integration with robotic platforms are excluded from scope. Medical Imaging equipment used in conjunction with the Surgical Navigation System is not in scope for this RFP as it is covered by a Pharmac Medical Imaging Panel.
