Airways is seeking proposals for the demolition of an unused 05 Approach Lighting Pier at Auckland Airport.
The pier was built in 1972 of reinforced concrete to support the Auckland Airport runway approach lighting system. The walkway was originally built to provide the necessary extension for an aerial mast at the end of the pier - this aerial is now decomissioned.
Demolition will include removing the entire walkway and its supporting structures.
