This RFP invites respondents to propose a Contingent Digital Tower solution that can provide service at full capacity if the primary service (physical tower) fails.
Aerodrome Control Services at Auckland International Airport are provided from a physical control tower. Air Traffic Controllers visually observe aircraft, vehicles, and personnel from the control tower, supported by surveillance tools such as radar and Closed-Circuit Television.
Airways proposes the installation and commissioning of a new Digital Contingency Tower at Auckland Airport. This will provide greater resilience to the aerodrome control service at Auckland Airport and a more seamless service to Auckland International Airport and airspace users once deployed into operation.
