RFP2731 - North Terrace Road, Geraldine - Stormwater Improvements

Timaru District Council (TDC) have conducted an investigation into the existing stormwater infrastructure servicing North Terrace Road in Geraldine and determined that the existing soakpit, “NORR-SP16418”, located within Woodley’s Yard, is unsuitable for soaking away stormwater runoff. This issue has been causing floodwaters to affect the properties along North Terrace Road.

Based on the assessment of collected information, including the locations of existing services, the existing yard fence, road operation during construction, existing pavement, groundwater level, and available construction locations, the recommended improvement is to construct an elongated soakage system under the North Terrace Road pavement (referred to as soakage trenches).
