The specialist drainage report identified faults in various areas about the school’s stormwater system as well as its inability to manage the water run off from the banks about the north and east boundaries.
A specialist civil engineer has investigated the site and its infrastructure in developing a detailed scope of work including:
- Constructing a concrete swale along the base of the banks
- Pipe ramming of a 500 diameter drain under the school between a launch and receive pit
- Installation of new manholes and sumps
- Replacement of existing damaged or under capacity pipe and channel drains
- Replacement of paving to manage surface water into the new drainage system
The contractor is to allow for the setting up and managing a safe site in an active school environment.
The contractor is to develop a programme based about utilising the school holidays as much as is possible to carry out the more invasive aspects of the work including paving and pipe ramming. The remaining work will be managed during term time.
