There are a number of locations where the floor finishes at Wellington Girls’ College are at the end of their life cycle with many worn and degraded areas. In its current state the carpet can be a trip hazard and the vinyl is no longer able to provide an impervious surface.
It is proposed to replace the carpet with carpet tiles and vinyl with a commercial grade sheet product. In the drama classroom an acoustic vinyl is proposed that more easily allows the moving of props and equipment.
In addition to the 5YA scoped work, replacement of carpet in Pipitea Block is included as this is worn and whilst the building has been stripped out for other building works it makes sense to undertake this work subject to it fitting within budget.
The majority of the work will be undertaken during school holidays as Wellington Girls’ College are at capacity and have little ability to decant to temporary spaces.
