RFT - Main Building Contractor, Block ADM - Hall Exterior Wall and Door Remediation at Tawa College

Tawa College has recently become aware of the deterioration of some structural wall elements in the south facing wall of the college hall. Corrosion of steel members has led to some deflection and issues with the operation of the fire exit doors.

5YA funding has been made available to remediate the issues, replace defective structural members and replace affected joinery units.

The project works are likely to affect adjacent sheet cladding which is known to be an asbestos material.

The works will likely trigger the need to make some improvements to the fire alarm system and possibly emergency lighting systems.
