Block L currently houses an outdated computer teaching area and the school library that is no longer fit for purpose. The school is wanting to transform this space into a vibrant, flexible learning environment that fosters academic success while honouring cultural identity. They are wanting to create large, open learning spaces along with resource and break out spaces designed to accommodate different teaching and learning styles, group sizes, and activities.
A dedicated Kitchen where Students will learn about healthy kai, cultural practices such as manaaki tangata (looking after people), hosting manuhiri, tikanga Māori, and sustainability.
In addition, the existing wharepaku facilities within Block L are in poor condition and no longer meet the needs of our ākonga. As part of this project, we will upgrade these facilities to include external ringa horoia (handwashing stations).
