RFT - Plumbing and Drainage Contractor for Site - Drainage Repairs at Avalon Intermediate School, Lower Hutt

Avalon Intermediate School has experienced numerous surface flooding events from blocked stormwater drains along with repeating surcharging of their sanitary sewer line behind the dental clinic.

A camera study of the school’s stormwater and sewer systems has been undertaken confirming where breaks and blockages in the existing pipework are. Using this information as the basis a scope of work has been developed that replaces sections of drain, proposes repair work to manholes and sumps, increases pipe sizes to match capacity and replaces areas of paving to ensure surface water is directed into sumps.

The work is throughout the school and of a nature that is both disruptive to operation and presents some risk, it is therefore proposed to be carried out during holiday periods.
