RFT2647- Landsborough Road Bridge

Timaru District Council (TDC) is seeking a contractor to construct a new bridge over Otipua Creek between
Landsborough Road and Coonoor Road.
The existing masonry arch bridge is in poor condition with limited remaining life for vehicle traffic, and ongoing
maintenance is constrained by its age and heritage status. The current road alignment and intersection
geometry also present safety concerns, including restricted visibility and a history of crashes at the site.
To address these issues, Council intends to construct a new 22.5m long, two-lane bridge on an improved
alignment, alongside associated road and intersection upgrades, while retaining the existing bridge for
pedestrian and cycling use.
