We recently informed you about our government procurement business survey. We have extended the survey until Tuesday 26 September 2023. We value your feedback and look forward to hearing how we can improve government procurement practices.

Tell us what you think of government procurement in New Zealand

The government procurement business survey helps us to understand what businesses think of government procurement. We’d like to hear from you about your experiences of procurement practices within New Zealand government.

Why should I participate?

Each year government agencies spend approximately $51.5 billion on a wide range of goods and services from suppliers. Our aim is to ensure that government delivers value for all New Zealanders. Working effectively with businesses is crucial to achieving this goal.

We seek feedback from all businesses that supply, or are thinking of supplying, to government. This includes any government department, ministry, Crown entity, district health board, tertiary education institution or local authority - not just the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).

We will publish the findings later this year. As part of these insights, you will be able to see comparisons against the survey questions by type of business and sector.

How do I take part?

The survey is now open and closes on Tuesday 26 September 2023. It will take about 10 minutes to complete. The survey is anonymous and responses will be combined for reporting.

Is it confidential?

All responses are confidential and will be combined for summary reporting. Premium Research is collecting survey responses on behalf of MBIE. This includes the data analysis and anonymised reporting of results. Individuals will not be identified. We recommend you avoid using information that may identify you and/or others. You may receive reminder emails directly from Premium Research encouraging you to complete the survey.
