MidCentral DHB (MDHB) is embarking on a number of significant construction projects that support future healthcare requirements and outcomes within the MDHB region. The first of these projects is the Surgical, Procedural, Interventional, Recovery & Expansion project (SPIRE). This procurement relates to the sourcing of a main construction contractor to refurbish the existing clinical and acute spaces of the Palmerston North Hospital to create additional facilities for patients within the MDHB region.
The SPIRE construction program involves 2 construction stages of work that will be split into two distinct construction packages run sequentially:
1. Stage 1 – fixed price lump sum (based on completed working drawings)
2. Stage 2 - fixed Preliminary & General and Margin values including fixed sub-trade rates, followed by final confirmed pricing of remaining Stage 2 elements (following detailed design).
This Registration of Interest (ROI) will be used to select a shortlist of suppliers that will be invited to submit a response to MDHB’s Request for Proposal (RFP). It will be of interest to suppliers who have:
• Successfully delivered high quality buildings, refurbishments and alterations in large complex built environments and particularly in a health services setting;
• A demonstrated track-record in providing ‘early construction/ delivery advice’ services;
• A willingness to demonstrate commitment to the Government’s Broader Outcomes applicable to the construction sector and the Construction Sector Accord.
