SWDC WWTP Upgrades

Notice of Intent

Proposals (RFP) will shortly be sought from suppliers for delivering design and construct services associated with the SWDC Wastewater Treatment Plant upgrade project at the Martinborough (MTB), Greytown (GTN), and Featherston (FSTN) Wastewater Treatment Plants (SWDC WWTP Upgrades).

This project is for the design, supply, construction, and commissioning of the following components at existing WWTP facilities:

• Electrical Supply Upgrade - (MTB, GTN)
• Piping of treated WW from WWTPs to irrigation fields, including installation of irrigation equipment - (MTB and GTN)
• Inlet screens - (MTB, GTN, FSTN)
• Aerators - (MTB, GTN)
• Upgrade of UV process - (MTB)
• Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBR) - (MTB, GTN)
• Dissolved Air Flotation process (DAF) and Polymer Dosing - (FSTN)

South Wairarapa District Council (SWDC) will be procuring a main contractor via a NZS3916 2013 Design and Construct Contract. It is SWDCs intention to release the RFP to the market in December 2025, with responses required by 13 February 2026.

No response is required to this NOI, however suppliers interested in delivering this service can consider engaging with suppliers and partners prior to the release of the RFP.
